The Bowflex Blaze Gym falls squarely at the bottom of the Bowflex line and is sold direct to end users through the Bowflex website.
If you’ve been scared off from buying a Bowflex because of the higher price of some of their club quality models like the Extreme 2, Ultimate 2 or Revolution, don’t despair – Bowflex has not forgotten about you!
Bowflex is now selling a stripped down model of there upscale gyms on their website that’s similar to the original Bowflex Power Pro of the early years.
The Bowflex Blaze is offered with a standard 210 pounds of power rod resistance and comes with the ability to do over 50 exercises right out of the box.
Key Specs on the Bowflex Blaze Gym:
- 210-lbs of smooth Power Rod® resistance (can’t upgrade)
- Sliding seat rail for aerobic rowing and leg presses
- Heavy duty steel frame construction
- Bench Press Station
- Butterfly for a complete pectoral workout
- High Pulley Station for working your lats and back
- Exercise Chart Included
The Blaze offers a decent amount of workout function and variety for the lower price, but it does sacrifice some key features to keep the price down as low as it is…
The most glaring omission is the lack of adjustability of the bench and pulleys. They work well for some basic exercise variations, but can be kind of limiting for more advanced trainers. If you plan to keep this gym for more than a couple years, it’s worth your while to invest in one of their more advanced gyms like the Bowflex Extreme 2 or Bowflex Revolution.
If you’re on a tight budget and can’t afford one of the better Bowflex gyms, the Bowflex Blaze is worth a look and will work well for novice users.
